Queenie Secondary School was established in 1975. Originally it was known as Queenie Nursery School we have thrived over the years giving great quality education. We have out grown ourselves from a small school to a senior secondary school and already in the pipeline to grow more soon to a higher secondary school.
We have very experienced teachers from Play Group to Class X and our results in the board is also very good which we have been maintaining over the years.
Late S. M. Haque, founder and owner of Queenie Secondary School, Shillong had established her school in 1975. A career educationist, she started her teaching career as an assistant teacher at Shishu Mandir School, Shillong in 1959 where she went on to become the Principle until the establishment of Queenie.
Mrs Haque’s impetus was largely on Women Empowerment which translated to special focus on Girl Education. She had facilitated higher education sponsorship of a number of girls from her school. She served as a President in Indian Council for Social Welfare and chaired many such associations as head and advisor. She was felicitated by many prestigious awards including National Gyan Jyoti, Red Cross, Help Age India and contributed passionately to several literary, social and charitable causes. She served as the Principle of Queenie Secondary School until her untimely demise on 14th of August 2016.
